Situated in the heart of Bamford, in the beautiful Peak District National Park, the Anglers Rest provides a warm welcome to all, serving real ales, good quality wines and home cooked food.
Alongside all the things you would expect from a good pub, the Anglers Rest is also a unique and special place as it is jointly owned by over 300 people from the local area and is the first community owned pub in Derbyshire. The Anglers Rest includes the Anglers Pub, the Rest Cafe, as well as the village Post Office. By coming to pay us a visit you are not just enjoying a drink, a meal or buying a stamp, you are also helping sustain a community!
The Anglers pub serves delicious home cooked meals, with a regularly changing menu of specials. We have a wide selection of real ales from the local area and beyond, as well as a great choice of wines, spirit and soft drinks including teas and coffees.
The pub hosts a full programme of events, including a folk session on the first Monday of the month and vinyl club on the third Thursday of the month. We have live music events usually on the second and fourth weekend of the month – please check our website for details. Events are almost always free of charge.
The Rest Cafe opens during the daytime and offers light meals, delicious cakes made on the premises, as well as hot and cold drinks. It is licensed to serve alcohol, so you can treat yourself to a glass of wine whilst enjoying the regularly changing displays of work by local artists, also available to purchase. The cafe also offers a great range of cards, gifts and locally made treats such as honey and preserves for sale.
We offer free wifi across the whole site.
We extend a warm welcome to all visitors and provide facilities to meet the needs of a wide range of people including:
Baby changing facilities, high chairs and a range of toys and games to keep the little ones occupied.
Dedicated disabled parking spaces and fully accessible toilet in the Rest Cafe.
Outdoor tool station, bicycle pump and cycle racks with bike locks available to hire, for those who want to cycle to visit us.
We welcome walkers with muddy boots but also offer boot cleaning brushes in the troughs just outside the Pub.
We welcome friendly dogs with considerate owners in both the Rest Cafe and the Anglers Pub, but ask that dogs are kept away from the counter area in the cafe. Water bowls are provided outside for dogs.
We look forward to welcoming you to the Anglers Rest for a pint, a stamp or coffee very soon!
